Report on the 2018 run

A dull start always threatening to rain left some of our less enthusiastic runners staying indoors. Well we had intermittent light drizzle on quite a warm September morning meaning the 66 runners enjoyed our picturesque run through the best of the North Norfolk countryside. Special thanks musty go out to Adey Ewing who stepped in for our usual run orgainser (Bill Goreham - see below)) and did a great job. His experience and time was enormously appreciated.

The turn out was a satisfying 66 runners and special mention to a couple of runners Phillip Neave (70) and John Milton (76) - I think we need another class but what to call it ? Bus pass specials ? A great showing in the Under 12 category with the biggest turn out so far in that age group. A mix up in allocating the category meant the fastest female U12 missed out on a medal at the prize giving. We did present Jasmine with a medal when this was pointed out and a photo of the Chairman presenting the medal is in the gallery page along with other photos of the day. Well done to all the Under 12s the effort was brilliant and everyone of you made it round in times you should be proud of. All the winners are featured on the Winners page of the website along with the race times for all runners who took part.

While the Under 16s did not have a large turnout they did steal the show. Billy Life, an U16 was the overall winner in a fast time of 18m 41s. Well done Billy, great effort.

For those not aware - Bill Goreham was part of our walking football team that won through to the National finals held today in Nottingham. Following great success Erpingham made their way through the knockout stages to represent the South East of England and that is quite some achievement. I can report we (Erpingham) were beaten 2-0 by Watford in the semi finals so the open top bus tour through the Street will have to wait for next year.

Walking football is very much a part of the MUGA and was only started because the MUGA was there so to be representing the SE in the finals on the day of the MUGA run was especially apt. Well done the Erpingham boys.

Thank you to all those who helped make the day a success and I can assure you all that the runners appreciated the freindly nature of our run.
